Police halt Channahon speeder, charge him with DUI

A CHANNAHON man was charged with DUI by Minooka police about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14.

Andrew Appleton, 21, Channahon, was arrested near Ridge Road and Industrial Drive.

Minooka police reported Appleton was stopped for going 70 in a 40 mph zone and improper use of a turn signal.

Officers reported Appleton smelled of liquor and appeared intoxicated. He failed the field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI. At the police station, he registered .171 on the Breathalyzer test.

He posted bond and was released.
