Mr. Carroll Dean Farmer, 78, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died on Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Friday, July 3, at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., Morris. There will be no funeral service.

Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to Clayton’s Tap for dinner.

Born on Dec. 27, 1930, in Independence, Mo., he was the son of Carroll and Thelma (Evans) Farmer. He graduated from Northwest High School in Kansas City, Mo. He served in the U.S. Marines for 11 years. He was employed as a truck driver for 50 years and retired from Berryman Transfer in Joliet.

Survivors are his wife, Marry Lee of Morris; his daughters, Vicki (Ron) Schutte of Fenton, Mo., Cindi (Tom) Schluter of Katy, Texas, Johna (Keith) Countryman of Morris, Maria (Larry) Corwin of Morris; a brother, John Farmer of Overland Park, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
