CHANNAHON - "Family Fun Quest", a free, family program for individuals at least six years of age, will be Saturday, July 11, at 2 p.m. at Four Rivers Environmental Education Center in Channahon. The program is sponsored by the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

How well does your family work as a team? Who is the most observant? Who is good with directions? This adventure will test all three while providing fun for everyone.

Following a crash course in orienteering with a compass, families will be off to navigate through the preserve while trying to locate items on a scavenger hunt.

Wear comfortable walking shoes and long pants as part of the time will be spent off trail. Bring a water bottle for each family member.

MLB preview: Detroit Tigers

Even with Prince Fielder, Detroit may have only the sixth-best roster in the American League in my book (maybe the seventh if the Blue Jays really put it together). In the Central, that is plenty to be the favorite.
