Two celebrating 90th, one her 80th

Fillman’s celebration to be held this weekend

Three area residents will be celebrating birthday milestones in the coming weeks. In Mazon, both Ruth Walsh and John Fillman will be turning 90 years old, while Loretta Yenerich in South Wilmington will turn 80.

Ruth Walsh

Ruth (Arnold) Walsh will celebrate her 90th birthday on Wednesday, July 29, 2009.

Born on July 29, 1919 in Joliet, she was married to the late Wm. F. Walsh on July 15, 1950.

Mrs. Walsh is the proud parent of Nickolas (Pam), Wm. II (Angela), and Richard (Sharon). She is also blessed with six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.

An open house and card shower celebration is planned for Sunday, July 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Park Place Community Center, 608 Seneca St., Mazon. No gifts, please. Cards may be sent to Mrs. Walsh at 604 Seneca St., Apt. 4D, Mazon, IL 40444.

Loretta Yenerich

The family of Loretta (Dolly) Yenerich is requesting a card shower in honor of her 80th birthday.

She was born July 20, 1929, daughter of Anton and Jessie Togliatto. The children with her late, first husband, Jack Alderson, are Rick (Cindy) Alderson, Diane (Tony) Serena, Debbie (Brian) Christensen, Denise (Jon) Muzzarelli, and Randy (Diane) Alderson. She also has 10 gandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The children of her second husband, Phillip (Jim) Yenerich, deceased, are Ron (Phyllis) Yenerich and Connie (Gene) Williams. There are 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She will be celebrating this special occasion with her family on Sunday, July 19.

John Fillman

John Fillman will be celebrating his 90th birthday in Mazon. The event will be held at the United Christian Church fellowship hall on Park St. in Mazon on Saturday, July 11, from 2 to 4 p.m.

He is requesting that those in attendence not bring gifts; just the pleasure of their company is enough.
