A WOMAN was ticketed about 2:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, following an accident at Lynn Street and Third Avenue, South Wilmington.

Melissa Welter, 30, 230 Lake St., South Wilmington, was cited for failure to obey a yield sign and driving with an expired license. She was given an Oct. 29 court date.

Deputy Lonnie Harvey reported Welter was westbound on Lynn Drive when she failed to obey the yield sign at Third Avenue.

Rose Mary Jett, 62, 275 Lemmon St., South Wilmington, was southbound on Third Avenue. She could not avoid hitting the right side of Ford Van driven by Welter.

Welter told the deputy she was sick at the time of the accident and missed the yield sign.
