Trio of drug offenders plead guilty
Three people pleaded guilty to drug charges Thursday, Oct. 29, when they appeared in circuit court.
Audrey Kraatz, 35, who said she was homeless, pleaded guilty to delivery of alprazolam (Xanax) within 1,000 feet of a park and was placed on probation for four years. She was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail, with credit for 79 days served.
She was also ordered to pay a $1,000 mandatory drug assessment, but was given credit of $5 per day for 79 days served in jail, which reduced it to $605.
Kraatz was also ordered to pay $300 in costs, $20 per month in probation fees, submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 charge.
She was charged by an agent from the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad (MANS) with delivering the drug on Aug. 12, 2009.
Kraatz also pleaded guilty to delivering 10 to 30 grams of marijuana to a MANS agent on Aug. 3. She was placed on conditional discharge for 30 months.
She received a concurrent 180-day jail sentence and was ordered to pay $405 in fees and assessments.
George Wicks, 18, who said he was homeless, was also charged with delivering marijuana on Aug. 3. He was placed on probation for 30 months and ordered to pay $800 in costs and fees. He was also sentenced to four days in the county jail, with credit for time served, ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 fee.
Jillian Wawerski, 23, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to a possession of heroin charge in court Thursday and was placed on probation for two years. She was ordered to pay $800 in costs and assessments, $20 per month in probation fees, complete 30 hours of community service work, submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 fee.
She was also sentenced to 10 days in the county jail, with credit for time served.
Wawerski was arrested by Deputy Paul Clampitt after he stopped a vehicle on Interstate 80, near Illinois 47 about 4 p.m. May 4.
There was evidence of heroin use in the vehicle. Wawerski admitted having heroin hidden in her clothes.
