A DRIVER stopped for speeding was also ticketed for possession of drug paraphernalia on Friday.

Marquis Meyjes, 23, 180 East U.S. 6, was given a Nov. 23 court date.

Deputy Kenneth Unland reported he stopped Meyjes for going 59 in the 45 mph zone while northbound on Illinois 47 in Dwight.

The deputy reported as he approached the car he could see a glass pipe in the rear cup holder of the console.

Mayjes denied the pipe was his.
