A Joliet man was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay $1,100 in costs and assessments when he pleaded guilty in circuit court to possession of cocaine.

Luis Conteras, 31, Joliet, was arrested May 1 by Minooka police after they responded to a domestic disturbance. Charges of domestic battery, for throwing a woman into a wall, and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, for preventing her from calling 911, were dismissed.

On the drug charge, Conteras was ordered to do 30 hours of community service work, pay $20 per month in probation fees and sentenced to two days in the county jail, with credit for time served.
