A Morris man was placed on probation for 30 months when he appeared in circuit court Monday and pleaded guilty to a felony domestic battery charge.

Donald Fisher, 21, 406 Liberty St., was charged May 6 with punching a woman in the face and breaking a front tooth while they were at 406 Liberty St.

The charge was upgraded to a felony because of a prior domestic battery conviction, April 24, 2009, in Grundy County.

In court Monday, Fisher was sentenced to 31 days in the county jail, with credit for time served, fined $300, ordered to pay $20 per month in probation fees, submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 fee.

An April 25 charge of resisting police was dismissed. Fisher was charged with running from Officer Dustin Seale behind 402 Liberty St.

Remember when the Indians came out of nowhere and competed in their division last season? I have a feeling that will be a lot more forgettable once 2012 is a few months old.

I'm starting the blog's annual baseball series here because of the alphabet, not to pick on the Sox. Just wait until I get to the Cubs, Sox fans.
