Ottawa man sentenced for DUI, heroin charges

Kendrix Williams, 58, Ottawa, was placed on supervision for two years and fined $1,075 for DUI. He was ordered to complete counseling and attend a victim impact panel. He was charged May 30 on Interstate 80, one mile west of Morris.

He was also placed on conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay $800 in assessments and costs for possession of heroin. He was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail, with credit for time served, and ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 fee.

He was found to have heroin when he was arrested for the DUI.
