Truck driver files suit against distribution center over accident

A truck driver who went into a construction zone at the Aldi distribution center in Dwight filed suit in circuit court Friday seeking damages for his injuries.

Steven Eller of Altoona, Iowa, filed the suit against Captains Concrete of Dwight and Aldi.

The complaint charged about 4:30 a.m. on July 9, 2009, Eller was driving a truck and delivering products to the Aldi building. At the time, it was dark and raining.

A concrete parking area was being resurfaced at the distribution center.

The complaint charged the construction area was not lighted or taped off and Eller drove into it.

When the truck hit the construction area, Eller was jerked about in the cab and injured.
