Douglas V. Daly

DWIGHT, Ill. – Mr. Douglas V. Daly, 50, of Dwight, Ill., died, suddenly, of a respiratory ailment, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009. He was born May 18, 1959.

Mr. Daly was an honors graduate of Northwestern Military Academy, Lake Geneva, Ill., in 1976. He was an experienced electrician and carpenter and was self-employed at his death.

An accomplished musician and vocalist, Mr. Daly was a member of several regional bands and operated his own recording studio. His avocations included stock car racing, in which he was a winning driver and master mechanic.

At the time of his death, Mr. Daly was "crew chief" for Chad Bayuk at Grundy County Speedway.

Mr. Daly is survived by his wife, the former Alicia Wyrick, and daughter, Madison, of Dwight; his father and mother, Joel and Suzon Daly, and sister, Kelly Daly, all of La Grange, Ill.; and a host of close friends.

Services are private.

Preferred memorials are donations to the after-school care program at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Dwight.
