SENECA — Little damage was reported in a grain dryer fire north of the town on Sunday, Nov. 8.
Seneca Fire Chief Jerry Sears said the incident happened near 2948 East 29th Road, when a motorist went off the pavement and struck a utility pole.
The incident interrupted the electrical power and started a fire in a grain dryer, owned by Randy Jackson at that address.
“Firefighters got the blaze out right away,” Sears said. “There was hardly any damage.”
Gerald Glagget, 23, of East 30th Road, Seneca, was cited in the incident with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and not having proof of insurance.
La Salle County Sheriff’s Department deputies investigated the incident.
