Kerry Ann Tadej
STREATOR — Mrs. Kerry Ann Tadej, 39, of Streator, and formerly of Joliet, died Sunday evening, Nov. 15, 2009, at her mother’s home in Ransom after a brave battle with lung cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Burial will take place at noon Saturday, Sat. 21, at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
Born April 8, 1970, in Joliet, she was the daughter of Robert E. Tadej and Diana Hauck.
She is survived by sons, Michael A. Arnold of Ransom and Cody J. Swan of Marseilles; her mother, Diana Hauck of Ransom; a sister, Tammy (Greg) Palaschak of Kinsman; half brothers, Robert (Karen) Tadej of Great Lakes, Wis., Jefferey (Lisa) Tadej of Elgin, Gregory (Sara) Tadej of Plainfield and G. Jason (Stephanie) Tadej of Joliet; half sisters, Dawn (Scott) McRae of Texas and Nancy (Patrick) Sondgernoph of La Salle; and her paternal grandfather, George Tadej Sr. of Arizona; a special friend, Dan Olson of Streator; and Kerry’s ex-husband and special friend of the family, Thomas Swan of Marseilles. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Tadej; a nephew, Joseph Tadej; maternal grandparents, Robert Hauck and Clara Valentino; and paternal grandmother, Gertrude Tadej.
Born and raised in Joliet she attended Joliet grade schools and the Joliet Job Corp.
She was a member of the Mazon Baptist Church.
Through the years, she worked in the retail industry. Her final place of employment was the Streator Moose Lodge. She was also a member of the Streator Moose Ladies Auxiliary. She was currently attending Illinois Valley Community College for medical billing and coding.
