FOUR teenagers were cited for liquor violations about 9:50 p.m. Saturday near the Goose Lake Prairie Natural Area.

Kenneth Holman, 19, 456 Center, Braidwood, was charged with illegal possession of liquor.

Taraca Chancey, 18, 358 Division St., Braidwood; Jenna Schuecher, 17, Blake Drive, Godley; and Nicole Griffin, 18, 408 Front St., Braidwood, were cited for illegal consumption of liquor. All were given Dec. 7 court dates.

Deputy Josh Slattery  reported he saw the driver of a Toyota make a wide turn at Pine Bluff and Jugtown roads, then go into the Goose Lake area, although it was closed.

After stopping the car, driven by Holman, the deputy reported he could smell liquor in the vehicle.
He received permission to search the vehicle and found an open bottle of vodka behind the passenger seat.

The deputy reported the passengers admitted sipping the vodka. There was no evidence Holman had consumed any liquor.

MLB preview: Cleveland Indians

Remember when the Indians came out of nowhere and competed in their division last season? I have a feeling that will be a lot more forgettable once 2012 is a few months old.

I'm starting the blog's annual baseball series here because of the alphabet, not to pick on the Sox. Just wait until I get to the Cubs, Sox fans.
