JUST MARRIED: Airney, Olson wed in Cancun

Couple exchange vows Nov. 13 at Dreams Resort

Karen Airney and Chase Olson were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at the Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa in Mexico.

Thomas E. Manigan, special uncle of the groom, officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Diane (Ziegler) Washburn of Morris, and Tim Airney of Channahon and the stepdaughter of Mark Washburn, also of Morris.

She is the granddaughter of Rose Edith Ziegler and the late Norman Ziegler of Morris, and of Rosie Airney and the late Werner Airney of Michigan.

The groom is the son of Greg and Donna (Steffes) Olson of Verona. He is the grandson of the late Wesley and Joann Steffes of Morris and of Betty Olson of Highland Park, and the late Ansley Olson.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a strapless gown of white satin accented with a chapel length train. Her wedding dress was embellished with a ruched bodice that was outlined with beading and Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and stargazer lilies.

Readings were given by Corrie Sistek of Mazon and Laura Carlson of Morris, childhood friends of the bride.

A reception is planned for the couple on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at the Grand Bear Resort in Utica. Invitations have been sent.

Karen is a 2006 graduate of the University of St. Francis of Joliet and is employed as a registered nurse by the Morris Hospital.

Chase is a 2006 graduate of Lewis University and is a partner at Clearsky Systems Inc in Verona.
