Minooka motorist ticketed after collision at intersection

A DRIVER was ticketed for failure to yield after an accident at Airport and Lisbon roads about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26.

Jason Strode, 25, 1329 Emington, Minooka, was ticketed after he collided with a Ford Freestyle driven by Paul Pope, 44, 207 Canal St., Newark.

Deputy Angelo Sallese reported Strode was eastbound on Airport Road when he stopped at Lisbon Road.

Strode told the deputy he looked both ways, but did not see anything. When he entered he intersection, he collided with the other vehicle.

Pope told the deputy he was southbound on Lisbon Road when the other driver pulled in front of him. He could not avoid the collision.

Strode was given a notice to appear in court Jan. 6.
