Mr. Charles L. "Chuck" Enerson Sr., 76, of Morris, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Dec. 4, 2009, at the Morris Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 28, 1933, in Morris, he was the son of Andrew E. and Lillian (Millton) Enerson. He was educated at the Morris schools.

Chuck married Martha E. "Marty" Friant on June 5, 1954, in Stickney, Ill. He was employed with Jefferson-Smurfitt Corp. in Morris for more than 30 years. He retired on June 30, 2008.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He treasured the time spent with his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Whalen of Morris and Jerri (Jerry) Angeloff of Verona; two sons, Charles L. Enerson Jr., of Morris and Rick (Lynn) Enerson of Gardner; 12 grandchildren, Charlie, Nathan, Brianne, Lainie, James Michael, Gary, Brock, Katie and Billy Whalen, Erica, Ashley and Olivia Angeloff; nine great-grandchildren, Bobby, Mariah, Cade, Tyler, Jacob, Peyton, Colton, Alyssa and Tayden; one sister, Sharon (Tom) Hougas of Morris; three brothers, Earl (Arlene) Enerson of Aurora, Andrew (Lynnete) Enerson Jr. of Melbourne, Fla. and William (Pat) Enerson of Morris; special friend, Marianne McLuckie of Coal City; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Dec. 6, 2007; and one brother, Fred Enerson.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris. Rev. Kevin Yandell will officiate the service.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and private family interment will follow at a later date at Sample Cemetery.

Memorial gifts can be directed to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
