SHOREWOOD — Country western singer Christine Stapleton will entertain her audience, with a program titled, “Country Christmas,” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood. This event is free and open to the public.

Stapleton began singing 16 years ago at an office Christmas party. After her debut karaoke performance, where she sang Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” she continued singing karaoke for several years.

A professional singer for the past six years, Stapleton has performed at the Grundy County Fair, the Grundy County Speedway and the Embassy Care Center in Wilmington. Stapleton and her husband, Dan, now own a karaoke business called “Krazy Karaoke.”

Area seniors invited to Christmas Ballroom Dance

Area seniors are invited to the Timbers’ Christmas Ballroom Dance from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Road, Shorewood.

The afternoon of dancing will feature the music of the Jay Mau Orchestra. The Timbers’ monthly ballroom dances are always very well attended by not only Timbers’ residents but by many couples who live in the area and who love to dance to ballroom music. With very few 1930s and ‘40s ballrooms still in existence, a dance such as the one the Timbers hosts, is very popular indeed.

The public is invited. Admission is free. For more information call Judy Malin at (815) 609-0669.
