JoAnn E. Kopczick
JoAnn E. Kopczick, 79, of Morris, passed away early Friday morning, Dec. 18, 2009, at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 29, 1930, in Morris, she was the daughter of Sheridan and Gladys (McIntosh) Gross. She was educated in Morris schools and was a graduate with the class of 1948 at Morris Community High School.
JoAnn was employed with Jefferson Smurfit Company in Morris for 42 years, retiring as the shipping clerk in 1993.
She was an avid reader, a fan of NASCAR and a member of Junior Nation. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris. She was also a member and past secretary-treasurer of Morris Local 262 United Paper Workers of America.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Toni Ann (Richard) Mattingly of Morris; four sisters, Phyllis Scott, Sharon (Lynn) Paulson and Carol VanCleave, all of Morris, and Sandra Harney of Twin Falls, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patricia Black; two brothers, Gordon and George Gross; and special friend, Donald Heath.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. Fr. Richard Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
