Braidwood driver taken to hospital after accident

ONE DRIVER was taken to Morris Hospital following an accident at Illinois 47 and 113 about 9:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21.
John Cowie, 55, W. Main Street, Braidwood, was taken to the hospital by Minooka Ambulance.
Laura Schuman, 44, 827 Quail Run, Coal City, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was given a Jan. 4 court date.
Deputy Angelo Sallese reported Cowie was westbound on Illinois 113, when he stopped prior to turning to go north on Illinois 47.
Schuman told the deputy she stopped behind Cowie. When he moved ahead, she looked to the left for traffic. As Schuman pulled ahead, she failed to see Cowie had stopped and could not stop in time to avoid colliding with the rear of his Chevrolet.
