Area churches plan special Christmas Eve services tonight

First Christian, Morris

The First Christian Church of Morris invites you to attend its Christmas Eve Services, “Good News of Great Joy,” at 6 and 9 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Dec. 24.

The church is located at 455 W. Southmor Road, Morris. For further information, phone the church at (815) 942-3454.

Coal City United Methodist

Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 E. McArdle Road, will host Christmas Eve Candlelight & Communion Services at 6 and 11 p.m.

A New Year’s Eve Watch Night Service is set for 11 p.m. Dec. 31.

Living Water Church

Living Water Church of the Nazarene will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight worship service at 5:30 p.m.  tonight, Thursday, Dec. 24.

The church is at 508 West Illinois Ave., next to We Care Food Pantry
in Morris.

All are welcome for a celebration emphasizing  the Christ Child who changed the world 2000 years ago. The setting will be breathtaking with candlelight and Holy Communion served to all.

Verona, Mazon Methodist

The Verona and Mazon United Methodist Churches extend a special invitation to everyone to join them for their Christmas services.

“Love Was Born at Christmas” will be the message at the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at both churches.  The Christ child will be welcomed into this world through scripture and song.

Service of Holy Communion will also be offered to all.

Times for this service on Thursday, Dec. 24, are 7 p.m. at Mazon and 11 p.m. at Verona.

Trinity “Goodfarm” Lutheran

Trinity “Goodfarm” Lutheran Church will have a special Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24.

The church is located 1/2 mile east of Illinois 47 on Stonewall Road, across from the Goodfarm Township Cemetery.

Rev. W.E. Duey, pastor, invites the public to attend. The church is handicapped accessible.

Resurrection Lutheran, Channahon

Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through worship tonight, on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, at Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Both the 4 and 7 p.m. worship services include Holy Communion and candlelight. Everyone is invited and welcome.
