Mrs. William (Valma R.) Kline, 101, of Morris, Ill., passed away Friday evening, Dec. 25, 2009, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Dwight, Ill.

Friends may call at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, on Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral services at 7 p.m. The Rev. Heidi Johnson will officiate.

Cremation rites will follow, with private family inurnment in Saratoga Cemetery at a later date.

Born Oct. 4, 1908, in Emden, Ill., she was the daughter of George and Lena (Wiekert) Laing. She was educated in the schools of Emden.

On Dec. 23, 1925, she married William J. Kline in Lincoln, Ill.

Mrs. Kline was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morris.

Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Kern of Coal City, Ill., and Lois Witherington and Mary Jane (Roy) Ralston, both of Morris; one son, Steven Kline, of Auburn, N.Y.; 33 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; 38 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Johnson of Silver City, N.M., and Ruth Bushnell of Ottawa, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Pearl Laing of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on April 10, 1972; two daughters, Dolores Mulligan and Margaret Bekker; one great great granddaughter; one great great grandson; two sisters, Villa Williams and Ruby Hauge; and one brother, William Laing.

Memorial gifts can be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
