A RURAL Gardner woman was charged with DUI after she damaged two parked vehicles at Main and Fulton streets about 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Marci Williams, 29, 2050 E. Grinter Road, Gardner, was also ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. She was given a Jan. 25, 2010, court date.

Morris Officer Derek Zumbahlen reported Williams was westbound on Main Street, when she attempted to turn left on to Fulton Street. Her Oldsmobile slid on the slippery street and struck the rear of a GMC truck owned by Sandra Wiekert, 411 E. Main, which was parked facing south on Fulton Street.

The impact pushed Wiekert’s truck into the rear of a parked Mitsubishi owned by Leslee Rhodes, 3715 School Drive.

Williams’ Oldsmobile sustained severe front end damage and was towed from the scene by Brandt’s.
Officer Zumbahlen reported that, in talking to Williams, he noted she smelled of liquor and appeared intoxicated.

MLB preview: Detroit Tigers

Even with Prince Fielder, Detroit may have only the sixth-best roster in the American League in my book (maybe the seventh if the Blue Jays really put it together). In the Central, that is plenty to be the favorite.
