Morris man pleads guilty to trio of charges
DeShawn Harris, 19, 1001 Quail, was placed on probation when he appeared in circuit court Thursday, Jan. 28, and pleaded guilty charges of battery and felony disorderly conduct.
Harris was placed on probation for 30 months with two days in the county jail when he pleaded guilty to filing a false report with Morris police. He was also fined $200, ordered to pay $20 per month in probation fees, submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 fee.
He was charged July 20 with reporting a child was being endangered when he knew it was false.
Harris was also placed on probation for two years with eight days in the county jail and fined $155 for battery. He was charged Sept. 30 with punching Benjamin Poore in the face.
Harris received credit for time served on both jail sentences.
He also pleaded guilty to a charge of driving with a suspended license and was fined $155. Harris was charged April 4 at U.S. 6 and Brisbin Road.
