Morris man accused of theft of license plate

AN INVESTIGATION by Coal City police resulted in a misdemeanor theft charge being filed against Chad Smeets, 42, 5700 Muskie Trail, in circuit court Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Smeets was charged with the theft of an Illinois license plate on Oct. 16 from William Wharrie.
A summons was issued and Smeets is to appear in court Feb. 22.
