Roots Hair Studio is a new full-service hair salon and the newest addition to downtown Morris.

Morris native Christina Brooks is the owner of Roots, 224 W. Washington St. She says she is proud to provide her hometown the “beauty stimulus” that it has been awaiting.

Brooks has worked for 12 years in the hair industry, including serving in a position as an international hairstylist. Brooks is happy to have come full circle to introduce a neighborhood business where she and stylist Tina Kelly have planted their own roots.

Kelly, too, is a born and raised native of Morris. She has a supportive clientele that she has served in the area for more than 20 years.

Kelly is an accomplished stylist and precision colorist, as well as a former salon owner.

“As much as our success relies solely on ‘word of mouth,’ we look forward to serving our loyal customers and welcome all of your referrals,” Tina and Christina said.

“We are excited and happy to continue keeping the community beautiful one hair cut at a time.”

Roots Hair Salon offers precision cutting, Redken color and highlighting, perms, waxing and UpDos.

Roots is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The salon is closed on Sunday and Monday.

For additional information or to make an appointment, call Roots Hair Salon at (815) 941-2923.
