Donald Lyon and the former Jean Black were united in marriage on March 19, 1961, at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris by the Rev. Hugo C. Montanus.
Parents of the couple are LaVerne Black and the late Robert Black, and the late Roy and Lina Lyon.
The couple are proud parents of Daniel (Marlene) Lyon of McHenry, and David (Lynn) Lyon of Oak Forest. They are blessed with three grandchildren, Heather, Joshua and Emily.
An open house is being planned by the family to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris.
