WILMINGTON, Ill. — Mrs. Nancy Cleo Hagen, 72, of Wilmington, Ill., passed away peacefully Sunday Nov. 27, 2011, at home.

Born Jan. 9, 1939, in Morris, Nancy was the daughter of the late Lois M. (Ames) and Lyle B. Stitt. She was raised in Verona, where she attended Maxwell Grade School and graduated from Mazon High School.

Nancy was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning, gardening, painting and fellowship with Friends. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family.

She was the loving wife of 54 years to Richard Hagen; beloved mother of Connie Sue (late P.A.) Edwin of Dwight, Ill., Carol Louise (John) Greene of Joliet, Ill., Nannette Hagen of Burnham, Ill., Marianne (Christopher) Byers of Wisconsin, Edith Marie (David) Lull of Glen Elyn, Ill., Ruth Ann Martin of Wilmington, Ill., Audrey Lois (Erwin) Mock of Springfield, Ill., Christine (Mihalis) Manetas of Patras, Greece, Richard T. (Tracy, nee Braund) Hagen of Braidwood, Ill., and  the late April Ann Hagen; devoted grandmother of George, Matthew and Rebeccah Edwin; Andrew and Patrick Greene; Dodgetta L. Martin (Charlie) Simpson and the late Ruthie Kapetanios; and Elizabeth and Anne Marie Mock; Keaton and BriAnna Hagen. She is also survived by one sister, Marilyn (Gene) Anderson of Galva, Ill.; two brothers, Charles Stitt of Texas, and Jerry (Dixie) Stitt of Verona, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, granddaughter, parents, one sister, Myrtle Stitt, and three brothers, Stephen, Paul and Melville Stitt.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Morris, where all friends and relatives are invited to gather from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Mr. Ray Hoffmann will officiate.

Interment will follow at Ward Cemetery, Verona.
