MDH was wrong to print graphic story

I am very disappointed in the article “Former MCHS teacher indicted” on the front page of Friday’s newspaper. I am shocked that our local newspaper would published such a descriptive act in this article.

My 11-year-old grandson read the paper and drew my attention to it. He would not tell me what the article said. He knew better than to repeat that “news.” I had not read the paper until he drew my attention to the article. Any headline article involving a teacher being indicted will draw the attention of youth. Eleven-year-old boys should not be subjected to such a graphic description in the newspaper.

This country is dying in its moral filth and decay. Television and now the newspaper is promoting this filth. I would hope that the Morris Daily Herald and Miss Chapman would print a front page headline apology to the readers for printing this filth.

Yeah, Kam...when someone wants to live their life pretending that bad things don't happen and that we shouldn't speak of those things, they are living in a hole. So when they pop their head out and say that a paper printing a story was wrong, I'd say they can go back to their hole. And as far as "Get a life," yes. When someone can't handle reading a story in the paper because it's "too graphic," I'd say they are overly sensitive and need to learn to deal with realities in life and hence, need to get a life. As for you being a prude, if the shoe fits... Details are part of a story-deal with it.

Do you support Morris' decision to allow video gambling in city establishments?

Yes. It's an opportunity to raise needed funds.
No. This sort of activity should be kept out of the community.
I'm undecided on this issue.
