WILMINGTON, Ill. — Mrs. Mildred E. "Midge" Waltz, 86, of Wilmington, Ill., passed away Friday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2012, at her home.

Born July 17, 1925, in DeSelm, Mildred was a daughter of the late Louis and Ione (Hammond) Corlett. She was raised in the DeSelm area and educated in Manteno.

Survivors include her husband, William Waltz of Wilmington; one sister, Sharon (Dean) Bird of Tamaroa, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Ken Surman of Wilmington and Earl Welsh of Peotone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Vivian Vonbank, Darlene Shenk, Carol Surman, Maureen Welsh, Lois Hutchingson and Grace Corlett; and four brothers, Hank Corlett, John Corlett, Millard Corlett and Harold Corlett.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, Wilmington.

Graveside services and interment will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Wesley Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mildred's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
