Morris driver loses control, hits pole

A Morris motorist blamed snowy and icy roads Saturday, Jan. 14, after he veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

James R. Pelnarsh, 17, of 735 Edgewater Dr., Morris, told Morris police he was traveling westbound in the 800 block of Gore Road when he lost control of his vehicle. He ran off the roadway, striking a utility pole on the north side of the road.

Pelnarsh said he was only going about 20 mph, and he said the road surface was snowy and icy at the time of the accident.

His vehicle sustained front end damage. There was no damage done to the pole.
