CHANNAHON — Proposals for funding are now being accepted for the Channahon’s Three Rivers Festival Community Support Grant program.

Each year, a portion of Three Rivers Festival proceeds are set aside for the program. Community organizations, local governments, and not for profit organizations are eligible to apply for assistance in providing services and projects that benefit the Channahon community. From the 2011 festival, nine organizations received a total of $4,050 in funding. A maximum of $500 is available for each grant.

Grant proposals are due by Feb. 2.

The grants are in addition to festival proceeds which are allocated to the four festival sponsoring organizations: Channahon Lions Club, Channahon Fire Department, Channahon Baseball League and Chanooka Braves Youth Football Organization.

Information and application materials are available to download at www.threeriversfest.info.
