50th anniversary: Newland

Mr. and Mrs. David L. Newland of Morris will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 8, 2012.

Dave and the former Sharon K. Harris were married in Monticello, Ill. on Feb. 8, 1962. They have made their home in Morris for 45 years of their married life.

Dave served in the Air Force and was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Ill. After that he worked at and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in Joliet.

Sharon has worked as a homemaker throughout their marriage.

They are the parents of two children: Brian (Kim) Newland and Angela (Kirby) Davis.

The have six grandchildren: Amanda (Kody) Davis, Larissa, Channing and Wyatt Newland and Claire and Carter Davis. Dave and Sharon also have two great-grandchildren: Daniel and Jack Davis.
