In the final regular-season wrestling action of the season on Tuesday, Seneca knocked off both Putnam County and St. Bede to finish the year 10-13.


Seneca 66,

Putnam Co. 24

Seneca got wins from: Jimmy Savoree at 113 (forfeit); Hank Thomas at 126 (fall in 3:07); Sage Friese at 132 (forfeit); Bailey Lejawa at 138 (fall in 1:58); Alex Valentine at 152 (fall in :55); Tommy Lovett at 160 (fall in 2:59); Dayton Coyle at 170 (forfeit); Zach Booth at 182 (forfeit); Brandon Webb at 195 (forfeit); Tyson Ashbaugh at 220 (forfeit) and Ed Lowers at 285 (forfeit).


Seneca 66,

St. Bede 9

Wins for Seneca came from: Thomas (forfeit); Cole Klicker at 132 (forfeit); Friese at 138 (fall 1:03); Lejawa at 145 (fall 1:48); Valentine (fall :56); Booth at 170 (fall 1:30); Juan Rodriguez at 182 (fall 2:39); Webb (forfeit); Ashbaugh (forfeit) and Lowers (forfeit).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Streator Northlawn 42

Brad Littleton had 13 points and Keegan Clampitt 10 in the regional-opening win. Both Jared Skubic and Nick Holmes had nine points each.


Reed-Custer 43,

Coal City 39

The Warriors' season ended with the loss to R-C.

For Coal City, Littleton had eight points, Nick Holmes seven, Skubic 6 and Clampitt five.


Mazon-Verona-Kinsman 38,

Chicago CCR 32

The Mavericks got the win in the regional semifinals.

Wyatt Aldrich had 15 points and Devin Bryant 10 in the win.


Saratoga 36,

Dwight 21

The win advances Saratoga into the 8-3A Seneca Regional championship.

Jackson Shannon had 11 points for Morris while Matt Paulson and Nick McPherson had eight points each.


Saratoga 32,

Wilmington 22

At the 8-3A Regional in Seneca, Saratoga got the win.

Matt Paulson had 12 points, Jackson Shannon 10 and Cole Puckett six in the victory.


GIRLS BASKETBALL

Nettle Creek 40,

Sandwich 17

Nettle Creek was led by eight points each by Leona Burton, Amanda Grant, Jessica Jurak and Meghan Jurak. Meghan Jurak had seven rebounds, Allyssa Post seven rebounds, Amber Kartheiser five rebounds and Jessica Jurak five rebounds.

Klaire Ferguson had five steals.

In the 'B' game, Sandwich won 11-7. For Nettle Creek, Maddie Kamradt had four points and Ella Ferguson 15 rebounds. Kamradt also collected five rebounds.
