BULLETINS: First Baptist Church offering Kidz Zone
The first Friday night of each month the First Baptist Church will host Kidz Zone.
Parents may drop off their children at the church for crafts, activities, games, music and snacks, while they enjoy shopping, a date night or simply relax.
From 6 to 8:30 p.m., the children willl enjoy themselves in a positive, loving, safe and fun environment. Kidz Zone is offered for all children under the age of 12.
February’s Kidz Zone takes place on Friday, Feb. 3.

Coal City UMC to hold soup supper
COAL CITY — Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 E. McArdle Road, Coal City, invites the community to its “Hallelujah” Soup Supper on Saturday, Feb. 4.
The soup supper will run from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. The homemade soups will be Chicken Noodle & Vegetable Beef.
The cost will be $8 for adults and children ages 13 & older; $4 for children ages 6 -12; $2 for children ages 3 to 5; and free for children ages 2 & under.
Each meal includes your choice of soup, crackers, bread and cheese, a beverage, ice cream and dessert. A children’s menu and carry-outs are available.
All proceeds will go to the church’s building fund. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Sick to be anointed at healing service
PLAINFIELD, Ill. — At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, immediately following the 12:15 p.m. Mass, St. Mary Immaculate will host a healing prayer service in the church.
After a short scripture reading and prayer, each individual will be offered the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

Christian Academy taking enrollments
CHANNAHON — Families of Faith Christian Academy is currently accepting students for this Spring semester at its new Channahon campus just off U.S. 6, at Interstate 55.
The school serves students from preschool through high school with a challenging college preparatory curriculum and small class sizes in a positive environment.
The FoFCA Eagles athletics department includes boys and girls basketball programs and will be joined by a boy’s baseball program this Spring.
The private academy is also beginning registration for the fall school year. Class size is limited and will fill up quickly.

Super Bowl party planned on Feb. 5
Immaculate Conception Parish Men’s Club is sponsoring a Super Bowl Party/Raffle at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, in the St. Angela Room at Immaculate Conception School.
Tickets to attend the party are $10.
For the party and raffle of a 46-inch HD 3D TV with blu-ray player and glasses (only 100 raffle tickets will be sold), are $50.
Food, beverages and games will be available. There will be $200 payouts each quarter and door prizes during the game.
This is the Men’s Club biggest fundraiser for the year. Funds will be used for parish improvements and scholarships. Everyone is welcome.

Tamales served on Super Bowl Sunday
PLAINFIELD — St. Mary Immaculate’s fourth annual Super Tamal Fest & Mexican Breakfast is planned for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5.
The Knights of Columbus Good Shepherd Council 5573 will serve authentic Mexican tamales after all the Sunday Masses (7:30am to 1:30pm) at St. Mary Immaculate Parish Gym, 15629 S. Illinois 59, Plainfield.
They make a great breakfast or you can take some home with you for your own Super Bowl party.

Next senior meal will be served on Feb. 8
CHANNAHON — A nutritious meal will be provided by the Senior Service Center of Will County for residents 60 years or older.
The luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month — Feb. 8, this month — at Channahon United Methodist Church, 24751 W. Eames St.
A minimum $3 donation is suggested.
Free Blood pressure checks will be provided by Channahon Fire Department.
The TRIAD topic for the month, heart awareness, will be presented by representatives of Morris Hospital. TRIAD is the concept of cooperation to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly.

Snacks to be served after all the Masses
Immaculate Conception Parish, 516 E. Jackson St. Morris, will offer drinks and snacks in the church narthex on Feb. 11 and 12.
Coffee and cookies on Saturday, Feb. 11, and coffee and doughnuts on Sunday, Feb. 12, will be served after each Mass that weekend.
Stop by after Mass and visit while enjoying a drink and snack.
Organizations from the parish will be helping with preparation and serving. The School Board and Parents Club will be serving.

Catholicism 201 will explore Catholic faith
Catholicism 201 is coming to Immaculate Conception Parish, 516 E. Jackson St., Morris.
This eight-week course will begin on Sunday, Feb. 12, and will meet for eight Sundays from 5 until 8 p.m.
Each Catholicism 201 evening consists of four parts:
1. A shared meal;
2. A time of community prayer;
3. An hour-long presentation from the DVDs of an aspect of the Catholic faith;
4. Small group discussion followed by large group discussion.

Community supper slated in Sheridan
SHERIDAN — The 2nd Monday Community Supper will be served at Sheridan United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 13.
Known as “The Church with the Praying Hands,” Sheridan United Methodist is at 219 S. Bushnell St., Sheridan.
The meal, served from 5 to 6:45 p.m., will be the sixth annual Valentine Spaghetti Dinner. The meal will also include salad, garlic bread, beverage, and a chocolate fountain for dessert.

Fish fry set Feb. 24
CHANNAHON — The Knights of Columbus Council 12863 will sponsor a fish fry dinner on Friday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Ann Parish Hall, 24500 S. Navajo Drive in Channahon.
The menu will consist of fish, shrimp, salad bar, French fries or baked potato, desserts and beverages. Dine in or carry out.
There will be a kids’ menu available that will include grilled cheese, French fries and applesauce.
A 10 percent discount for dine in before 5 p.m.
