Betty G. Miller
FOLSOM, Calif. — Ms. Betty G. Miller, 65, of Folsom, Calif., and formerly of Morris, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Mercy San Juan Hospital.
Born Sept. 12, 1946, in Morris, Betty was the daughter of Allma (Larson) and Orville Miller. Betty grew up on the Miller Farm in Morris, which is now the Goose Lake Prairie State Park. She was a graduate of Morris High School with the class of 1964.
Betty graduated from Evanston Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She worked in Evanston and Cook County Hospitals.
Betty moved to California in 1972 and worked at Stanford University Hospital and later for Visiting Nurses Association in San Jose, Calif. She furthered her education with a bachelor's degree in health science from San Jose State University. She later changed into the insurance fraud division of health care, retiring from Health Net in 2011.
Betty was a member of Oak Hills Church in Folsom.
She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed going to spring training in Arizona for many years with her dear friend, Pat.
Betty traveled extensively, visiting Mexico, Europe, South Africa, Australia, Tahiti, Fiji, Kenya, Egypt, New Zealand and Russia.
Survivors include her brother, Orville (Debbie) Miller; niece, Tiffany (Jason) Jensen; nephew, Ryan Miller; great-nieces, Alyssa and Ariana Miller and Maggie Jensen; great-nephew, Kaleb Miller; special pets, Sammy and Carey. and many friends, co-workers and extended church family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Allma Miller, and grandparents, Grace and Henry Larson.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Oak Hills Church in Folsom.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to the American Lung Association.
