Virginia "Marcine" Boyle
WILMINGTON, Ill. — Mrs. Virginia "Marcine" Boyle, 81, of Wilmington, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Coal City.
Born Feb. 7, 1931, in Stewart County Tenn., Marcine was a daughter of the late Millard Filmore and Lula Bell Herndon-Hicks. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wilmington and formerly worked for the Wilmington School District in their cafeteria services.
In past years, Marcine enjoyed traveling, as well as spending time with her friends, especially in the mornings at McDonalds. She loved to crochet and will be remembered for being actively involved at the Stough Group in Wilmington.
Survivors include her four daughters, Kathy (the late Billy) James of Wilmington, Kay (Steve) Gibson of Coal City, Sue Davis of Diamond and Debbie (Charlie) Douglass of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren, Stacy (Britton) Roth of Wilmington, Adam (LeAnn) James of Braidwood, Chris (Jen) Gibson of Dwight, Brian (Rachel) Gibson and Greg (Heather) Gibson, both of Coal City, Heather Davis, Katie Davis and Patrick Davis, all of Diamond, Jeff Douglass and Nathan Douglass, both of Bloomington, and Billy James of Arlington, Va.; 18 great-grandchildren, Alec, Garrett, Kinsey, Ethan, Beckett, Simon, Mika, Seth, Rachael, Braden, Brenna, Makiah, Tyler, Caeden, Peyton, Gavin, Lexi and Jacob; one sister-in-law, Marcella Hicks of Murray, Ky., and one brother-in-law, Claude Brown of Manteno, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carmel David Boyle in April 1994; son-in-law, Billy James; three brothers, Bill Hicks, John Hicks and Milford Hicks; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Bell and Ruby Lois Brown.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Wesley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marcine's grandsons, Adam James, Chris Gibson, Brian Gibson, Greg Gibson, Patrick Davis, Jeff Douglass and Nathan Douglass.
