Bond set for duct tape defendant
DIXON (MCT) – Bond was set Thursday at $10,000 for a Dixon man accused of putting duct tape on the arms, legs, and mouth of a 7-year-old boy to restrain him earlier this week.
Lance A. Larsen, 31, appeared Thursday in Lee County court via closed-circuit TV on charges of unlawful restraint and domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
He has a preliminary hearing status Wednesday. Bond also was set at $3,000 on several outstanding traffic cases.
Larsen was arrested Wednesday after a short investigation by police.
Police say Larsen lives in the same home as the boy and that the two are not related.
Dixon police were called Wednesday by the Department of Child and Family Services after the boy said Larsen had bound his arms, legs, and mouth with duct tape, according to court documents.
The boy further said that Larsen was present when a second boy kicked him while he was bound with the tape.
Larsen admitted to police that he had used the duct tape to tie up the boy and that he “allowed” the second boy to kick the boy in the buttocks while he was bound, according to court documents.
