Interstate Eight girls basketball All-Conference team

Five area girls basketball players made the Interstate Eight All-Conference team.

Seniors Alyssa Applebee, Lexi Brown and Coley Baker of Seneca, and sophomores Emily Halliday and Britta Spelde of Coal City made the 20-member squad.

Other members of the team are - Caitlin Cann (sophomore, Peotone), Jackie Zakhem (senior, Westmont), Darian Payne (senior, Lisle), Kayce Nagel (senior, Peotone), Brittney Campione (junior, Peotone), Shelby Kretman (senior, Lisle), Zhate Jackson (junior, Plano), Josie Rigsby (senior, Herscher), Hayle Beck (senior, Manteno), Susie Sternard (junior, Westmont), Kate Pfeifer (senior, Dwight), Tachae Miles (junior, Plano), Caitlyn Welch (sophomore, Reed-Custer), Emily McKenna (senior, Herscher), Kayla Phillips (senior, Sandwich).

Special mention honors went to - Ashley Welch (Reed-Custer), Clarisa Martinez (Plano), Amanda Anderson (Westmont), Lauren Homerding (Wilmington), Kaylyn Wedra (Sandwich), Lisa Bruner (Dwight).

The Interstate Eight also named 11 "senior All-Stars." The Seneca trio of Applebee, Brown and Baker was named to the team.
