SCHAUMBURG — Rebecca Schroeder, Michaela Hart, Brandon Grossi and Brandon Pasdertz of the Seneca FFA Chapter attended the National FFA Organization’s 212 Conference at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg Hotel in Schaumburg on Jan. 20-21.

Pasdertz received a scholarship from the Illinois FFA Alumni to attend to event.

The two-day 212 Conference personal development program helped students learn techniques for dealing with peer pressure and how to set and achieve goals. The conference also featured a self-discovery workshop designed to help members find their own success in life.

The title “212” comes from the fact that at 211 degrees, water is just hot, but at 212 degrees, water boils. Boiling water produces steam and steam can power a locomotive. The FFA members were encouraged to give one extra degree to improve their leadership and personal growth.
