Celebrant for the mass will be Bishop Joseph Imesch. Concelebrants will be Fr. Vern Arseneau, CCW Deanery Moderator, Fr. Michael Powell and other parish moderators.

Knights of Columbus Council of Watseka will also participate in the mass.

Those attending are asked to bring farm or garden seeds and soil to be blessed. Following the mass the CCW of St. Edmund’s will provide a dessert bar.

You are invited to attend this special event. This event  gives you an opportunity to provide another faith living experience for your children.

The Blessing of Soil and Seed Mass is not just for farmers.

Congregate meal served each month

A nutritious meal will be provided by the Senior Service Center of Will County for residents 60 years or older.

The luncheon will be served at 11:30 on the second Wednesday of each month — with the next on March 14 — at Channahon United Methodist Church, 24751 W. Eames St. The minimum suggested donation is $3.

Reservations for lunch should be made by calling the Township office at (815) 467-2569 no later than the Thursday before.

Channahon church hosts antique show

An Antique Show will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, and again from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Channahon United Methodist Church, 24751 W. Eames (U.S. 6, Channahon.


A $2 donation for entry includes one free appraisal.

Corned Beef and other wonderful sandwiches will be available from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Bingo to raise cash for scholarships

CHANNAHON — The St. Ann Council of Catholic Women will be hosting a B-I-N-G-O Fundraiser, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 24500 S. Navajo Dr., Channahon.

Lunch will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. until noon. Bingo will be from noon until 3:00 p.m.

Admission for Bingo is $10. This entitles you to a pad of 15 bingo games (9 cards per game), along with A 50/50, and free raffle tickets for cash door prizes. You must be 18 years of age or older to play Bingo.
