Cubs catcher Castillo hopes to prove his worth

MESA, Ariz. – All Welington Castillo wants is a chance.

The chance to win the Cubs’ backup catcher spot out of camp and prove he can stay healthy throughout a season-long grind remains Castillo’s focus.

“I just have to play,” Castillo said. “I don’t want to put any pressure on me like, I gotta hit, I gotta catch, I need to throw out people. No, I just got to go there and play hard, the way I play all the time, try to do my best.”
