Morris EMS aid a woman who crashed into a Reserved Parking sign at the Morris Driver Services Facility Tuesday morning around 10:45 a.m.

A woman who was apparently on her way to the Driver Services Facility in Morris on Tuesday slammed into a reserved parking sign with a cement base, according to witnesses at the scene.

The incident occurred at about 10:45 a.m. in the parking lot directly in front of the Secretary of State Driver Services Facility near Green Acres Drive in Morris.

Witnesses said the driver was cutting across a row of empty handicap spaces. She was trying to park her Ford Mustang in order to go the Driver Services Facility, according to witnesses who talked with the driver.

In her attempt to park, the driver crashed head on into a reserved parking sign for Driver Services Facility road test applicants. Both of the Mustang's airbags deployed as result of the impact, and two witnesses assisted her following the crash.

One witness, who wanted to remain unidentified, said the woman was "zooming over to get a parking spot." When she hit the sign, the witness said "she hit the gas pedal and started a burn out."

The woman was loaded into an ambulance by Morris EMS and taken to the hospital. The woman was reportedly conscious and not seriously injured.

Additional details will be provided once the accident report is released by the Morris Police Department.
