Free tax prep service offered

JOLIET — Volunteers will offer free tax preparation at the Will County Center for Community Concerns, 304 N. Scott St.

Tax preparation is offered for those with simple returns. All volunteers have undergone Internal Revenue Service certified training.

Taxpayers should bring the current year’s tax package and/or label, all W-2s and 1099s, information about other income and deductions/credits and a copy of last year’s tax return, as well as a proof of account for direct deposit for a refund. Also needed are Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification notices/cards for all members of the family and proof of identification for the taxpayer and spouse.

Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments after hours may be made by special arrangement.
