Girl, 6, struck by driver with suspended license
Victim hit while riding her bike, suffers only lacerations
While attempting to park his vehicle Tuesday in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Morris, a man driving with a suspended license struck a 6-year-old girl riding a bicycle.
Morris Police Chief Brent Dite said it appears the girl was in the roadway where there are normally vehicles. The driver, Eric W. Robison, of Norridge, Ill., did not see the child near another parked car.
The girl was taken to the hospital and she was treated for lacerations to her lower extremities. She did not have any broken bones, Dite said.
Robison was arrested for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving while his license was suspended. He was taken to Morris Police Department, where he was processed and released after posting bond.
Robison was issued a court date of Monday, April 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the Grundy County Courthouse.
