Rosemary McGinnis, EMS Coordinator at Ottawa Regional Hospital, was honored earlier this month at the Illinois EMT Association’s annual seminar held in Springfield.

The recipient of this year’s LuAnn Acuncius Award, McGinnis was chosen for her past and continuing contributions toward excellence in EMS education.

The LuAnn Acuncius Award, presented each year by the IEMTA, signifies dedication and devotion toward raising EMS educational standards. The IEMTA was founded in 1975 to foster education for EMS personnel, to allow for information sharing and networking and to improve laws and regulations applicable to EMS staff in Illinois.

McGinnis has held the position of EMS Coordinator since 1997.

She has been employed with Ottawa Regional since 1984.
