Born Feb, 28, 1920, in Essex, Ill., she was the daughter of Peter and Katherine ( Baijt ) Havidich. She often recalled memories of being a young girl and living on the farm south of Gardner, Ill., attending Fiefield Elementary School, and graduating from Gardner-South Wilmington High School in 1938.

She married Tenis Fosen on Jan. 25, 1944. Rose and Teny loved their farm south of Odell, where they raised six children and lived 47 years, until his death on Feb. 18, 1991.

Amelia is about to be married and Rose was looking forward to attending the wedding.

Her three daughters, who also survive, are Diane (Tony) Krachtus of Oswego, Ill., and her daughter, Michelle, of Sugar Grove, Ill.; Sandra (Jack) Daniel of Cypress, Texas, and her two children, Jack Nimmo and Lori Baker, both of Cypress, Texas; and Karen (Jack) Lundquist and her three children, Andrea, Jared and Victoria, all of Woodstock, Vt.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Martin and Edward; and two sisters, Mamie and Ann.

Rose had a great sense of humor and took great pleasure in every family gathering, making them festive and fun for all of her 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, bake, sew, dance, work in her yard, and read novels.

Rose belonged to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Odell. She was a charter member of Circle Three of the Lady’s Sodality, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Odell Senior Citizens, the Livingston County Farm Bureau, a former Moose member, and a “special” euchre club in Odell, IL.
