"It was a great day for Austin," Petrovic said. "He had gotten off to a slow start to the season, but he's starting to come around. He's hit the ball well the past couple of days."

RBI hits from center fielder Alex Bebar, left fielder Steve Wittkamp, and right fielder Carson Neushwander capped off the rally for Minooka, who then added two more runs in the sixth inning to finish off the 9-2 victory.

The victory makes it seven straight wins for the Indians (16-8), but more importantly it clinches the series over the Panthers, who were tied with Minooka for second in the SPC standings coming into the series. The Indians only trail Plainfield North by two games now for the top spot in conference play.

"We have to keep winning if we want to win conference," Polcyn said. "Just got to keep going at it all the time."

"This team has a great attitude right now that every game is a big game," Petrovic added. "We can't look ahead to Plainfield North. With the way that they're playing, we can't afford to lose any games, or else that series won't mean anything. You have to have the right approach and and be able to play good baseball."
