Driver ticketed after rear-ending stopped vehicle

A man was cited after deputies said he rear-ended another vehicle Saturday in Diamond.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff's Office crash report, Jordan E. Cardosi, 19, of Kankakee, was traveling westbound on Illinois 113, west of Will Road, in a 1999 Chevy Cavalier, when he collided with the back end of a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by Jason T. Jelenich, 33, of Coal City, who was also traveling westbound.

Cardosi reportedly initially failed to notice that Jelenich had stopped, then applied his brakes, but was unable to avoid a collision. No injuries were reported.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
